Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sr. Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and ensuring the security of our Oracle database systems. Key Responsibilities:
1. Database Installation and Configuration:
Install and configure Oracle database software to meet organizational requirements.
Ensure proper setup and configuration of database instances, including tablespaces and user accounts.
2. Database Performance Tuning:
Monitor and optimize database performance using tools and techniques such as AWR reports, SQL tuning, and index optimization.
Implement and maintain best practices for efficient query execution and resource utilization.
3. Backup and Recovery:
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures to verify their effectiveness.
4. Security and Access Control:
Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard Oracle databases from unauthorized access and potential threats.
Manage user access controls, roles, and privileges.
5. Database Maintenance and Upgrades:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and applying database patches and fixes.
Plan and execute major database version upgrades in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
6. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Respond to and resolve database-related incidents, issues, and outages in a timely manner.
Collaborate with application developers and other IT teams to address database-related challenges.
7. Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Create documentation for new database installations and configurations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
Preferred Skills:
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification or equivalent.
Experience with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard.
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms.
Knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager for database monitoring and management.
Pay Range: $60 - $63 Hourly
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
