Registered Nurse- Pre/Intra/Post Operative
Overview:
Assists in the organization and daily function of the Preoperative, Intraoperative and Postoperative in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures. Assists in overseeing patient care activities and maintains a high standard of safety for the patient and other staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and comprehensive patient care in accordance with established protocols
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team promptly
- Educate patients and their families on health management and disease prevention strategies
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery
Skills:
- Proficiency in ambulatory surgery center procedures
-Assesses patient/significant others understanding of disease process and need for surgical intervention.
- Familiarity with hospital operations and protocols
- Knowledge of critical care transport procedures
- Ability to adapt to different environments, including travel nursing assignments
- Expertise in acute pain management techniques
- Background in primary care services is a plus
- Strong health coaching skills for patient education and support
- Understanding of memory care practices for elderly patients
Qualifications
- RN License required
- BLS, ACLS required
- OR experience preferred
