Responsible for managing a caseload consisting of potential applicants funded through a Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), and working directly with applicants to collect and review Program documents and applicant supplied personal documentation to support eligibility determinations and other milestones throughout the process.
Strong organizational skills required and attention to detail is a must.
Ability to engage with an applicant both over the phone and through an electronic portal requires good customer service traits and basic computer knowledge.
Communication is daily with applicants and a professional tone and demeanor is required to manage an applicant’s expectations and get them through an established process.
Responsibilities also include some scheduling of appointments and interacting with other teams and departments who are partners in working through a caseload.

Description of Major Duties: Performs the analysis and evaluation of internal operations, business practices, and techniques for the Division of Disaster Recovery and Mitigation (DRM) to determine optimal business solutions. Develops training materials and conducts training sessions. Participates in administrative planning and assists in introducing new techniques/methods to improve the division. Formulates and recommends policies and procedures. Required to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information system used by the agency, office, or related units. Required to create and update Word, Excel, PDF, Adobe, and PowerPoint documents. Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Knowledge of provisions of policy guidance/assistance in preparation of schedules outlining essential steps to be taken in installation and/or conversion to data processing systems
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply basic laws/regulations
- Ability to review operating procedures and provide advice/assistance to state department officials on matters pertaining to operating requirements, fiscal procedures, and budget requests
- Ability to maintain records and files
