**Overview:**
The US Attroney's Office has a Financial Litigation Program (FLP) which is responsible for enforcing and collecting criminal debts owed to the United States and to victims. A significant mission of the FLP is to maximize recovery of restitution for victims within the laws of the United States.
Seeking a highly skilled Paralegal who shall provide legal support and is needed to work with the criminal restitution team to prepare, monitor and assist the Assistant U.S. Attorneys with the ensuing litigation in these high priority criminal cases.
**Duties:**
- Reviews financial assets and transactions and provides comparative analyses of information furnished by debtors
- Reviews and analyzes claims for legal merit and compliance with the Federal Debt Collection Procedures Act
- Reviews, evaluates, and verifies debtors account status and payment transactions
- Works closely with supervisor or AUSAs in making recommendations concerning settlements, write-offs, and liquidations of civil and/or criminal judgments
- Provides legal support to AUSAs in financial litigation matters
- Performs other related duties as assigned
**Qualifications:**
- Two years of litigation paralegal experience required
- One year of experience in automated litigation support
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Civil practice, including discovery support or financial collection experience is very helpful
