ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE III
Regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday: 7:00AM-4:00PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Under general supervision of City Clerk, will perform a broad range of clerical and administrative duties for the City Clerk and City Manager.
- Will administer office functions according to City policy or precedent.
- Receives, and assists, visitors of the facility in a professional manner.
- Arranges meetings for the City Clerk and City Manager.
- Prepares and processes forms which may require gathering, and coordinating, data.
- May transcribe letters, notes, reports, memos and meeting minutes from shorthand notes or electronic dictation equipment.
- Performs clerical support services to the Planning Commission and other committees, if assigned; Prepares public notices; Records, and transcribes, minutes of meetings; Prepares, and distributes, information on meetings; Maintains files and records.
- Prepares, and advertises, bids for the City and ensures proper procedures are followed in the bid process.
REQUIRED ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of City policies, procedures and operations.
- Knowledge of City ordinances and applicable governmental laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment and computer programs.
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public, fellow employees, leadership and Council.
- May be required to attend various training schools or classes.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE:
- Business school graduate with 2-3 years experience in similar field is highly preferred
- High school diploma, or equivalent, plus 4 to 6 years of practical experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience can be approved at the discretion of City Clerk, City Manager and Human Resources Manager.
