The primary responsibility of the Facilities Technician II is to ensure daily upkeep and effective operations of the facility. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintenance of all common areas, effective use of facility technical systems, and through these systems helps to ensure the ongoing safety of employees and members. The Facilities Technician II also effectively supports the training of Technician I’s in all aspects of maintenance and the company’s policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs or assists with regular preventive maintenance, repairs, and assembly of building systems.
- Installs and/or repairs facilities equipment and finishes, including but not limited to fan coils, lighting, bulb replacement, ceiling tiles, carpet, wall coverings, life safety devices, temperature controls, door hardware, PA systems, terminal distribution units, exhaust fans, plumbing systems and fixtures, and kitchen equipment.
- Cleans and maintains all shops and/or equipment rooms.
- Assists with overseeing and training Facilities Technician I’s.
- Disposes of hazardous waste in appropriate receptacles.
- Moves furniture, boxes, and any/all related equipment.
- Completes major drywall repair, texture, and paint.
- Identifies and reports any/all safety issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Executes trash removal and recycling processes.
- Ensures work is performed in a timely manner, and triages requests to prioritize the most critical repairs.
- Sorts and puts away supplies in an organized manner.
- Assists other departments and staff with any facility, technical, or maintenance need(s).
- Provides exceptional service and support to staff and members.
- Works with and coordinates with selected vendors, as needed.
- Provides coverage and support, rotating the on-call schedule and/or working non-regular shifts, as required.
- Performs work under general supervision and manages moderately complex issues and problems, referring the more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- In addition, all other duties as assigned.
