The scope of practice for educators in the medical imaging program is analogous to that which has bee n designed by the Association of Educator in Radiologic Sciences
The educators of the program are recognized professionals who communicate, demonstrate and teach the art and science of medical imaging. The medical imaging educators of the program shall:
- Be credentialed and in good standing with their respective credentialing agency.
- Be qualified in their specific field of study
- Be effective in teaching assigned subjects
- Meet the standards defined by the sponsoring institution
- Follow an established code of ethics
- Exercise positive educational methodologies and philosophies
- Develop and adhere to structural and progressive curricula
- Maintain continuous growth and quality improvement
Responsibilities of all program educators shall include but not be limited to :
- Instruction of a designated curricula
- Application of the laws of physics in the practice of Radiologic Sciences
- Determination of educational validity for all student clinical and classroom experiences
- Correlation of academic and clinical education
- Utilization of positive written and verbal communication skills
- Evaluation of student performance in the psychomotor affective and cognitive domains of learning
- Demonstration of good organizational skills
- Supervision of student activities
- Participation in continuing education to maintain and enhance competence in educational skills
- Provision of student access to faculty and professional counseling
- Respect of confidentiality in all student matters
- Serving as a positive role model for the profession
- Demonstration of dedication to the highes t standard of patient care and active support of the Patient ’s Bill of Rights as defined by the American Hospital Association
- Implementation of activities planned for program outcomes assessment and revision
Salary: $1,000-$1,350 per credit
