Position Title: Meeting Events Program Director
Position Type: 1099 Contract
Location: Hybrid - Washington, DC area (with periodic on-site meetings as required)
About the Role: FAR Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Program Director to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of the NCER & NCSER Technical Working Group (TWG) Meetings for the U.S. Department of Education. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in program management within a government context and hold relevant certifications such as Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) and Certified Meeting Professional (CMP). The Program Director will ensure all meetings are conducted efficiently, adhere to federal regulations, and meet the highest standards of quality. The candidate must have a moderate security clearance to manage Personally Identifiable Information (PII) for the collection of information for honorarium payment and tax documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of all virtual and in-person meetings.
- Develop and implement program strategies, goals, and objectives in alignment with organizational and client requirements.
- Ensure all project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of meeting planners, coordinators, and support staff.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary liaison between FAR Consulting, the U.S. Department of Education, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
- Facilitate meetings and discussions with stakeholders to address any issues or concerns.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all meeting activities comply with federal regulations and company policies.
- Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of meeting planning and execution.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Budget and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for all meeting-related activities.
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Prepare financial reports and provide regular updates to executive management.
Communication and Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Document meeting proceedings, decisions, and action items.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication of meeting outcomes and follow-up activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Event Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management, with a focus on government or corporate meetings and events.
Certifications:
- Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) – Required.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) – Required.
