Our Recruiter administers the day- to- day operations of human resources functions such as: recruitment, on-boarding, record
keeping and HRIS, as well as departmental development; work is performed under regular supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Administers Recruitment Process: Partners with hiring supervisors to seek and select best available candidates for position.
- Advertises job openings; writes and posts classified ads on different venues; updates vacancies lists.
- Processes applications as they arrive on a daily basis; maintains filing system.
- Schedules interviews and prepares correspondence for interviewed candidates not selected.
- Keeps managers and applicants apprised of the status of recruitment actions.
- Conducts reference and background checks; verifies credentials for selected possible candidates.
- Performs employment verifications.
- Obtains necessary approval for employment offers; extends verbal offers of employment.
- Mails out the candidate offer letter packet.
- Administers On-boarding Process: Coordinates new employee orientation on a monthly basis; prepares and tracks paperwork required for new hires.
- Administers Record Keeping and HRIS: Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner; maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Maintains HRIS database and generates requested reports; audits database to ensure accuracy; enters all new employees into the federal E-Verify database.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee request and questions.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with tenure-based employee service award activities.
- Attends and assists in preparing paperwork for Unemployment hearings.
- Assists during any Human Resources audit.
- Assists in day to day benefits administration services; assists employees with benefit questions.
- Assists in processing enrollment, changes and termination of participants in all benefit plans and programs.
- Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Incumbent must possess excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Skills in database management and record keeping.
- Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
- Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, and at least one year of
experience in Human Resources, or equivalent is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Attends training and maintains certifications as required by the Agency and regulatory guidelines.
