Summary: The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations the restaurants, including the selection, development and performance management of employees and oversees and ensures the highest of standards in customer service to deliver consistent and memorable guest experiences.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Restaurant atmosphere. Control music, temperature and light levels, and maintain overall appearance of the restaurant at all times.
- Ensure that the policies and procedures are effective and enforced to support the health and safety of the residents
- Interact with residents and guests and ensure the quality of guest and resident service, and their satisfaction with all aspects of the restaurant and dining experience.
- Handle customer complaints, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner.
- Attend weekly F+B meeting to go over upcoming events, updates on maintenance of steps of service and staff performance consistency.
- Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
- Conduct daily inspection of restaurant and equipment to ensure compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
- Periodically evaluate restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance. Schedule for service when necessary.
- Draw up floorplans, assign sections and side work, and conduct line up with employees before each shift.
- Maintain sales records. Responsible for collection of all server reports and receipts for each shift worked, and for completing daily sales reports.
- Ensure that all menus and other dining services related materials are up to date on all platforms.
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Monitor staff performance, providing additional training as necessary.
- Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with Company policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned from supervisor.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly smallware's inventory, manage available stock and purchase restaurant supplies in keeping with the Company budget and department allowances.
- Create and maintain the staff schedule while working within the operating budget / department allowances.
- Hire and train restaurant staff.
- Ensure all training materials are up to date.
- Plan, prepare, and execute community special events requiring dining services in coordination with the Activities Director.
Manage Beverage program including but not limited to:
- Scheduling of tastings with Distributors
- Negotiating prices to optimize profits
- Designing Wine and Cocktail lists following Company standards
- Overseeing Beverage specials and features
- Organizing wine dinners in collaboration with Chef
- Conducting wine classes and training for staff
- Monthly inventory of all Beverages
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have an acceptable criminal background record check.
- Must have a clear tuberculosis screening upon hire to assure that the employee is free of diseases communicable within the scope of employment.
- Must have a physical examination before employment and as required by the Community after an injury or illness to assure that the employee is physically qualified to work.
- Must be able to bend/stoop, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, push, pull, squat, crouch, lift, and carry up to one hundred (100) pounds.
- Employee must not be under the influence of alcohol or other substances while engaged in any work-related activity on behalf of the Community.
- Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed, including weekends. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
