GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Financial Analyst supports Finance and Program Management in coordinating and managing financial planning and control activities in accordance with contract requirements, including analysis of weekly and monthly actual costs incurred against budgeted, variance analysis, estimates to complete, preparation of Management Review Packages, and in some cases Earned Value Management (EVM).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The duties and responsibilities listed below apply to all levels of Financial Analyst. Each level of Financial Analyst has additional duties and responsibilities listed.
Financial Analyst I

Assists in the management and reconciliation of customer contracts for billings, revenue recognition, funding, and percentage complete.

Supports the accounts receivable function to ensure timely collection of outstanding billings.
- Support internal, external and government audits, where required.

Assists in the review and entry of monthly cost of sales.

Analyze cost, revenue, and other performance against benchmarks such as forecast and budgets for assigned program/projects.

Miscellaneous data entry, including reviewing and entering estimates-to-complete into ERP system, in addition to various month-end related tasks.

Assists Financial Analyst II-IV to support large contracts or ad hoc requests; may be required to manage and administer components business or internal projects.

Prepares ad hoc analysis.

Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required:
The education and experience listed below apply to and build upon all successive levels of Financial Analyst.
Financial Analyst I

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.

Basic understanding of financial functions associated Cost Reporting, Estimating, Cost Management, and Operating Plan/Forecast preparation.

Strong computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
