Role Title: Electrical Engineer
Role Purpose: Perform tasks related to the facility and machine electrical systems development, improvement, and troubleshooting. Maintain/repair production equipment, improve production equipment reliability, analyze data, provide root cause analysis, develop corrective actions, and contribute to continuous improvement process.
Role Reports to: Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Requires an aptitude in mechanical maintenance and repair with emphasis on knowledge of electrical/electronic maintenance and repair, generally acquired in 3-5 years of progressive job instruction and shop experience to become familiar with materials, techniques, and procedures.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, controls, motion systems, and operator interfaces.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical preferred but not required.
- Experience with machine visions applications preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend PLC programming logic, electrical and mechanical prints.
- Familiarity of facilities maintenance.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions on routine tasks, and work with minimal supervision.
- Assist with the training of Maintenance Technicians and Operators, administering policies and procedures, providing feedback on performance and ability levels.
- Assist with developing standards and written procedures for performing equipment repairs and implementation of best practices.
- Assist with development of maintenance PM work instructions and CMM’s database.
- Coordinating major repairs with outside contractors.
- Solid fundamental understanding of lean practices and how they relate to maintenance and manufacturing.
- Assist and lead capital projects and machine installations.
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.
Formal qualifications required:
BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required and 4 years’ experience in field preferred.
Soft Skills and Other Competencies:
- Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, and ISO standards.
- Skill in operating equipment, such as personal computer and office equipment.
- Skill in oral and written communication using the English language.
- Ability to communicate with employees and business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to organize multiple projects and establish priorities.
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical prints.
- Ability to read and comprehend programming logic.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent coordination. The ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and 40 lbs. occasionally – requiring lifting assistance if greater than 40 lbs.; good upper body strength and ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, crawl, kneel and climb for performing mechanical adjustments and equipment maintenance. Good vision and depth perception.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a factory environment under somewhat challenging conditions. Exposed to dust and dirt, powder metal particles, high noise levels, coolants or lubricating solutions, moving machinery, heat and electrical power. Work may be performed in awkward positions and in confined areas. Personal protective equipment is required when in production areas.

Pay: $82,000.00 - $87,000.00 per year
