Minimum Education
- Current KY RN license, BSN preferred.
- BLS certification
Minimum Work Experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Previous long-term care experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Medicare guidelines for long-term care
Required Licenses

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions
- IMPLEMENTS FACILITY ADMISSIONS, TRANSFERS, DISCHARGES, INITIATING INDIVIDUALIZED PLAN OF CARE
- REVIEWING AND UPDATING AS NECESSARY.
- RECEIVES REPORT WHEN COMING ON DUTY, ROUNDING REGULARLY, IDENTIFYING PROBLEMS AND
- SITUATIONS THAT REQUIRE INTERVENTION, INITIATING CORRECTIVE ACTION
- ENSURES RESIDENT RIGHTS ARE NOT VIOLATED
- PERFORMS NURSING SKILLS DEMONSTRATING KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCE, PROVIDING DIRECT
- RESIDENT CARE AS ASSIGNED BY RN DIRECTOR ACCURATELY AND TIMELY
- PREPARES FOR RESIDENT CARE CONFERENCES PROVIDING PERTINENT NURSING INFORMATION
- ASSISTS RN DIRECTOR WITH EMPLOYEE EVALUATIONS AND MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS
- ENSURES AVAILABILITY OF SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR NURSING PERSONNEL PROVIDING DIRECT RESIDENT CARE
- ASSUMES ACCOUNTABILITY FOR NURSING SERVICE COMPLIANCE TO FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL
- REGULATIONS AND MEDICARE DOCUMENTATION
- DEMONSTRATES APPROPRIATE AWARENESS FOR SUSPECTED ABUSE/NEGLECT AND REPORTS ACCORDING TO PROTOCOL
- IDENTIFIES AND PLANS APPROPRIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN TO PREVENT INJURY TO THE GERIATRIC RESIDENT
- PROVIDES EDUCATION TO RESIDENT/FAMILY BASED ON ASSESSMENT OF IDENTIFIED NEED
- FOLLOWS POLICIES REGARDING CONSENT FOR TREATMENT AND RELEASE OF MEDICAL INFORMATION
- EVALUATES FOR AGE-APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR, MOTOR SKILLS AND PHYSIOLOGICAL NORMS
- DEMONSTRATES KNOWLEDGE OF THE NORMAL AGING PROCESS
- DEMONSTRATES COMPETENCY AND KNOWLEDGE OF SPECIAL NEEDS AND MEASURES FOR MEDICATION
- ADMINISTRATION AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE IDENTIFICATION OF SENSORIUM CHANGES
- IS FAMILIAR WITH LOCATION AND USE OF EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT AND DRUGS FOR THE GERIATRIC RESIDENT
- ENSURES THAT THE DATA COLLECTION IS SYSTEMIC AND ONGOING
- DEVELOPS A PLAN OF CARE INDIVIDUALIZED, EVALUATING AND REVISING AS NEEDED
- CONTRIBUTES TO THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF PEERS, COLLEAGUES AND OTHERS BY SHARING
- KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS, BY PROVIDING CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK REGARDING THEIR PRACTICE
