Do you like people? Would you like to get paid to help them? Going-there Global Destination Services, a relocation company based in London with a fast growing network of operations in more than 100 cities around the world, is looking for a Destination Consultant in the Huntsville, AL area.
We offer a service you might wish you had received, when you relocated there.
This is a part-time role, project-based, working with assignees for 1-5 days at a time. You must have a car and be able to drive in the city and have been living there for more than one year.
The ability to cover the greater Huntsville region is mandatory, and preference will be given to candidates who could occasionally travel to cover other parts of Alabama (such as Montgomery or Birmingham) as well.
Desired Skills & Expertise: Being a Destination Consultant: You will help newly arriving expats and their families settle in to their new lives in the city. You will assist with topics such as pre-arrival assistance, home-finding and school searching. Helping them get connected in to the city with the least possible disruption. Making an often anxious assignee and their family feel at home. Putting a friendly face on a foreign place. To make an excellent Destination Consultant, you need a good knowledge of the Beckley area and some knowledge of the local rental market. Previous work in the relocation industry is preferable.
This role is best described as occasional project work. It is a good fit for someone who likes that sort of work style, but is not a good fit for someone who needs consistent work hours.
A professional demeanor is an important part of the role, as our consultants often work with executives who are relocating to the Huntsville. We like to work with people who are personable, responsible, savvy, with good people and communication skills. Excellent English skills, both oral and written, is essential.
Our main client in Huntsville is requiring only visits to the Social Security office at this time. The work is fairly consistent and would involve taking newly-arrived employees to the Social Security office and helping them apply for a Social Security number.
Some international exposure (such as international travel, study abroad experience, etc.) is preferred, with a strong preference to candidates who have lived abroad and relocated across international borders. Please describe any international experience in your cover letter.
Please see our recruitment page on www.going-there.com to learn more about our company and the role. Thank you!
