Description:
The Yard Disposition employee will periodically review and assess BMP quarantine material and in process material to identify Grinding, Crop Ends, Re-Beveled and Dedenting needs on the pipe and assist on their repairs to prime it for inventory and QA Control.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; hot when weather is hot and cold when weather is cold. Greasy, dirty and noisy environment. Work involves lifting, pulling and/or pushing of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Standing and walking considerable distances. Operation requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
1. Qualifications:
1.1. GED or a minimum of one year of experience in Pipe Yard operations.
1.2. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is desired, as well as the ability to learn new software applications.
1.3. Visibility of work requires attention to detail, good organizational skills.
1.4. Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time and weekends when needed.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Daily auditing of all Grinds, Pipe Crop Ends, Re-Bevel and Dedenting quarantine material.
2.2. Perform the physical activities to the pipes that are under quarantine to make them prime. The activities are utilizing flame cutting equipment, angle grinders, id grinders, beveling tools, dedenting tools and all tools provided by management in which training has been properly given.
2.3. Reporting and investigating Non-conformances/ Quarantine
2.4. Helping problem solve for any quality issues in inventory.
2.5. Provide daily numbers and reports for any quarantine movements and decisions.
2.6. Current knowledge and understanding of all relevant Borusan Mannesmann Pipe U.S. SOP’s.
2.7. Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
3. Activities:
3.1. Perform repairs as needed in all pipe needing grinds, crops, re-bevels and dedenting.
3.2. Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.3. Other duties as assigned.
4. Authority and Obligation:
4.1. This position has the authority to stop Production Operations for unsafe conditions or QA.
