ABOUT MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM DEPARTMENT AT JEFFERSON COUNTY
Jefferson County Management Information Systems department strives to provide the highest quality technology-based services, in the most cost-effective manner in order to facilitate services to the employees of Jefferson County. The department analyzes County system needs and follows through with designing, testing, implementing, and improving systems using Information Technologies resources.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Information Technology department is currently hiring a Programmer Analyst to analyze system and application requirements in order to code programs, and to train users in programs based on those requirements.
SOME ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be successful in this role by completing the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Maintains responsibility for various County software applications. Monitors, improves, updates, and repairs.
- Analyzes County system needs. Designs, develops, tests, implements, and improves systems using information technologies resources.
- Troubleshoots application errors and user needs; provides solutions or coordinates solutions with other departments.
- Coordinates internally to determine priorities and refines project plan outcomes, milestones, and timelines.
- Writes clear documentation of solutions to system needs; writes clear documentation on programs.
Requirements:
- Two years related experience and/or training; or an associate degree or higher from a college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in HTML, web design, JavaScript/JQuery, PHP, Java programming language experience, relational data bases training such as SQL.
Preferred Requirements:
- Two years related experience and/or training; or an associate degree or higher from a college or universityor an equivalent combination of education and experience, knowledge of PHP and SQL.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Web Developer Certificate.

The starting hourly wage range is $31.65 - $35.92 per hour depending on qualifications.
Full range extends to $40.28/hour
