Job Summary:
The MSOE Associate Director assumes full responsibility as delegated by the MSOE Director for the day-to-day program of Mission Springs Outdoor Education This includes but is not limited to: program management, staff care & development, being on call, and any other duties needed for MSOE and overall, Mission Springs.

Duties:
Program Management
1. Manage the day-to-day program operations such as but not limited to: Keeping class and first aid supplies stocked, liaison between teachers/chaperones and director, keeping the schedule on time, daily tasks, weekly projects, etc.
2. Be on call 24 hours a day every other week when schools are onsite.
3. Assist the MSOE Director with duties such as but not limited to: School visits, weekly staff scheduling, keeping Campbrain updated, marketing, social media, recruiting trips for staff, general office work, garden maintenance, museum care, and grant writing.
4. Coordinate all aspects of a schools' program every other week: housing charts, class schedule, special diets, coversheets, ops meeting, etc.
5. Contribute to and manage curriculum development and maintain class supplies that meet current California State Standards.
6. Substitute teach when needed.
Staff Care and Development:
1. Assist with organizing, planning, teaching and executing two weeks of successful staff training each season.
2. Provide a consistent atmosphere of support and encouragement for staff through a positive attitude and clear communication.
3. Contribute to the development of a cohesive staff community through strong leadership and spiritual mentoring.
- Regularly encourage individual staff members through informal check-ins.
- Occasionally organize and or participate in staff community events.
4. Develop quality interpersonal relationships with and between MSOE staff and Mission Springs full-time staff.
- Attend staff devotions and all staff meetings.
5. Evaluate teaching methods to develop staff teaching skills.
- Provide verbal and written evaluations to staff after teaching observations.
- Provide feedback to staff after observing evening activities (3-6 times per month).
6. Contribute positively to the team culture of Mission Springs, including serving in any other roles needed. (example: hosting guest groups during the summer)
7. Other duties as assigned by the MSOE Director & Associate Director of Mission Springs.
Qualifications:
1. B.S. Degree or higher in related field or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years related experience in program management including supervising staff.
2. Must have a strong commitment to serve Jesus Christ and commitment to advance the greater mission of Mission Springs.
3. Professional educator and leader.
4. Proficient computer skills, specifically in Microsoft applications.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Must be perceptive, flexible, and a self-starter.
7. Position requires sitting and using a computer keyboard and screen; moderate physical activity including walking, stooping, bending, reaching and carrying objects up to 60 lbs; must possess a valid CA driver’s license and provide reliable personal transportation to/from work.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
1. Environment: Indoor/Outdoor. All weather conditions.
2. Work Hours: 40 hours per week; every other week on-call.
3. Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting and using a computer keyboard and screen; moderate physical activity including walking, stooping, bending, reaching and carrying objects up to 60 lbs; must possess a valid CA driver’s license and provide reliable personal transportation to/from work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
