This position will be on-site in Bloomington with some travel to other locations as needed. The primary day to day location will be at our corporate office in Bloomington. We currently have six dealerships in Bloomington, one in Morton and two in Peoria. This positions also requires the ability to be able to lift heavy equipment (50lbs).

Sam Leman Automotive Group is currently hiring an IT Support Technician to help us with our growing IT Department. As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for supporting our end-users in all aspects of our computer systems.
Essential Functions:

Provide first contact on-site support via Helpdesk and phone requests to ensure courteous, timely, and effective first level resolution of end-user computer and application issues.

Provide on-site technical assistance for computer systems, software, hardware, answer technical questions, and escalate issues as appropriate.

Deploy, modify and troubleshoot computer hardware/software along with peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards and printers within our dealerships.

Conducts research to identify the most common user problems and recommends solutions.

Onboarding of new staff and internal staff transfers.

Keep current with technology developments, trends, and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

Must be comfortable to work with 3rd party application support to resolve issues related to vendor applications.

Create new process documentation and update as needed.

Images and deploys new computers as needed to end users as part of lifecycle upgrades.

Assists in the planning, testing and implementation of new software and hardware.

Provides input into information systems policies and procedures that helps improve end user experience.

Assists with other projects and upgrades during and outside normal business operations.
Skills and Abilities:
-
Skill in hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance of desktop computers, laptop computers, and associated common office peripherals (monitors, USB devices, printers, etc).

Skill working with current Windows desktops and server operating systems.

Comfortable working within Windows Active Directory Users and Computers in an enterprise environment.

Experience with Acronis or other desktop imaging software to create desktop images and keep them updated and troubleshoot installations as needed.

Microsoft Office O365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

Familiarity with basic VOIP Phone systems.

Familiarity with basic LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP Troubleshooting.

Assist in research and procurement of computer equipment and supplies.

Ability to work under limited supervision and manage work assignments, meeting schedules and timelines.

Strong ability to work well with others in a team environment. A team that works hard but likes to have fun along the way!

Has a good attitude and the ability to work in a positive manner with end users and ability to communicate technical issues in a way end users can understand.
Training and Experience:

3+ years of hands-on working experience with computer hardware, software and peripherals in a corporate environment.

A+, Network+ Certifications preferred.

Preferred training in Microsoft Fundamentals.

Proficient typing skills (50 WPM Preferred)
The employee hired for this position will work a basic 40-hour work week. This position will be on-site in Bloomington with some travel to other locations as needed. The employee may be occasionally required to work evening hours or on weekends depending on projects and workload. This position also requires a rotational on-call weekend with other members of the IT Team.
