The Estes Lab at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Research Technician III. This laboratory performs basic and clinical research related to gastrointestinal (GI) virus replication, cell-host interactions and pathogenesis. A new project is to identify the human norovirus receptor, mechanisms of entry, and new targets for drug development. This Research Technician will be heavily involved in the organoid project with the GI virus, human norovirus, but will also support postdoctoral fellows and graduate students in their focused molecular biology experimental research projects. The Research Technician will also assist in the running and organization of the lab and perform a variety of experimental techniques under general supervision.
