Pharmacy Technician Weirton Medical
Work Hours/Shift:
All Shifts
Pharmacy Technician Will Be Responsible For:
- Transcribes physician's written orders.
- Delivers requested medications to nursing stations and other hospital departments.
- Replaces floor stock and prepares IV admixtures.
- Maintains pharmacy workroom in clean and orderly condition.
- Charges replacement vouchers and fills medication bags.
Pharmacy Technician Qualifications
What You Will Need:
Some on-the-job training provided. Previous experience with pharmaceutical products and distribution preferred. Experience in computer input with menu driven programs preferred.
High school graduate or GED equivalent with basic to intermediate computer skills including the ability to learn new systems. Completion of a pharmacy technician training program, and/or pharmacy technician certification, and/or comparable health care related degree required. In addition, 960 hours is required to complete the training and then 3 months to successfully complete a national examination. Excellent Typing skills.
