Position Summary
Provides a variety of high quality customer service and clerical support. Primary responsibility is scheduling patient’s visits and procedures. Uses specific knowledge of medical procedures, insurance processes, data management, and medical records to organize and complete medical office tasks. Greets patients, answers phones, schedules appointments, and verifies insurance as needed. Provides assistance and backup support to various departments.

Core Job Duties
- Schedules, confirms and cancels patient appointments for MRI, Ultrasound, PET, CT and Fluoroscopy exams.
- Prepares patients for exams and procedures.
- Verifies and updates patient information for accuracy.
- Answers telephone calls.
- Schedules patient appointments.
- Registers patients at the front desk when needed.
- Assists in administrative duties as requested.
Other Duties
- Attends meetings and/or training seminars as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Education – High school diploma or GED.
- Work Experience – One to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Medical – Strong working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Equipment – Has good general knowledge of computer operations; uses a keyboard and calculator proficiently and with a high degree of accuracy; uses Microsoft Office Suite, internet browsers, e-mail, Meditech, PACS, and typical office equipment (i.e., ten-key by touch, fax machine, scanner, copier, multi- phone lines).

- Uses critical thinking skills to interpret information furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Ability to analyze and prioritize information and job tasks.
- Able to formulate appropriate responses to requests for services and information from patients, supervisors and co-workers .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to obtain and convey information in a clear, accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with administrative, technical and clinical staff.
Physical Requirements and Exposures
- Frequent standing, sitting, bending, and walking.
- Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours or more each day.
- Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Clear hearing and speaking voice sufficient for face-to-face and telephone communication.
- Clear hearing and speaking voice, requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses.
- Exposure to potential hazards: potential infectious agents (patients with fly, colds and the like).
- Noise level: typical of an office environment and medical clinic.
Additional Information
- Must be willing to work overtime when requested and authorized.
- Must be willing to travel to off-site work meetings, trainings and events, if requested.
