The Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit (CVCC) is a 12-bed critical care unit that provides highly specialized cardiac care to complex cardiology medicine and cardiothoracic surgery patients. CVCC nurses receive advanced training to care for a wide variety of acute cardiac patients including, cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, complicated STEMIs, cardiac arrests, unstable electrophysiology conditions, and immediate post-operative cardiothoracic surgery care. Our nurses also go through specific education on various cardiac and right and left ventricular assist devices including impellas, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) and Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The CVCC nursing team thrives on teamwork and collaboration with our highly skilled physician partners and is an incredible place to learn, grow, and develop cardiac-specific critical care nursing skills, while being part of an incredibly supportive care environment.
