Experience as a CT Technologist is required.
Duties:
- Turn on x-ray unit and perform warm-up procedure posted on control panel. Turn on Bone Density machine and perform
- QA check with calibration block.
- Ensure orders received from provider are complete and reflect accurate diagnosis/code(s).
- Escort patients from waiting area or exam rooms and explain procedure(s).
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
- Provide assistance with such tasks as dressing and changing to seriously ill, injured, or disabled patients. Assist/lift patients onto table for radiology procedures as needed. Ensure patients remove jewelry and other metallic objects before procedures, assist as needed.
- Follow precise instructions about the areas needing imaging to obtain quality images.
- Minimize radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques in accordance with OSHA requirements, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Maintain/ensure cleanliness of camera/bone density exam rooms after each use, sterilizing surfaces and restocking supplies as needed.
- Document patient care services and examinations(s) performed in Electronic Medical Records.
- Complete rad documentation of procedure to allow for charge entry for all radiology exams.
- At the end of each clinic day, properly close Radiology and Bone Density departments; ensure equipment is shut-down and exam rooms are prepared/cleaned for next day.
- Maintain radiological equipment in accordance with OSHA standards. Complete preventive maintenance, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions and coordinate with Radiology Manager need for maintenance/repairs.
- Contact patients with appointment information; verify dates/times. Notify patient of all special/prep instructions for Pet-CT, Nuc testing, etc.
- Print orders for previous studies; fax to V-Rad.
- Upload studies/images from disc completed by outside sources; using proper naming protocol.
- Download scans to disc for Patients/Providers. Ensure all patients receive copy of studies on disc prior to departure.
- Monitor radiology supply inventory and notify manager of supply orders as needed.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Cross-train in other departments, become familiar with Job Descriptions of other clinic positions as directed by Practice Manger; cover areas as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA & OSHA regulations and complete all required training.
