We are looking for a reliable Safety Supervisor to assist the Safety Manager and ensure everyone in the company complies with rules and regulations pertaining to airport ramp safety and facility safety. The Safety Supervisor will be responsible for enforcing the established policies and maintaining a safe workplace. As a safety Supervisor you must have excellent diligence to identify hazards and recommend solutions. Under the supervision of the Safety Manager, you will be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs. The ability to communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety.
Responsibility

Support the execution of health and safety plans in the workplace according to company/customer policies and legal guidelines.

Serve as a subject matter expert on facility and airport ramp safety, service, and procedures.

Understand all processes related to airline catering utilizing heavy trucks to approach and service aircraft.

Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.

Conduct training and presentations for health, matters, and accident prevention.

Monitor the quantity and quality of work performance.

Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.

Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.

Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and compile reports.

Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics as requested by Safety Manager.

Acts as company representative when assigned.

Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.

Requirements
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred but not required; in lieu of degree six months to one-year related ramp experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Ability to conduct safety briefings in group settings and positively influence safe behavior.
- Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off per operational needs.

Cognitive skills to set priorities and use independent judgment.

Ability to handle stress. Work with minimal supervision.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Microsoft office skills preferred.

OSHA certifications a plus but not required

First Aid/CPR trained preferred or able to obtain CPR certification.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as airport ramp safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Must be minimum 21 years old to be considered

Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record- no moving violations in the last three years

Ability to work outdoors and varying temperatures and environments

Must have a valid active Drivers License

Ability to pass all required airport security clearance.
