We’re looking for a qualified professional to join our Counseling team as a Bilingual Counselor/Therapist with the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish and English.
OMNI offers financial support as team members pursue licensure (LPC, LCPC, LSW, LCSW).
YOUR ROLE
As a Bilingual Counselor/Therapist, you’ll provide counseling services in OMNI’s communities, including individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, and community programming. In addition, you’ll also work regularly on case conceptualization, case management, and treatment plans.
As a member of the Counseling team, you’ll have consistent support from your colleagues in addition to opportunities to strengthen your skills with professional development workshops facilitated by experts in the field.
CORE RESPONSIBILITES
- Provides individual, group, and family counseling using a trauma-informed and evidence-based approach.
- Preform comprehensive intake, assessments, treatment planning, and diagnosis for new clients.
- Maintain clear and concise client files with trauma-informed documentation of treatment efforts in accordance with OMNI policies.
- Enter required reports, case notes, and other appropriate information into billing database in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other OMNI Counseling team members for case management, program planning, and program development.
- Communicate with collateral contacts such as the police department, local schools, referral sources, and other private or public agencies as needed.
- Provide 24-hour crisis intervention services at least once a week every four to six weeks, including responding to requests for emergency assistance from local police departments, clients, and residents in OMNI service areas both in-person and through telephone contact. Please note: The OMNI 24-hour crisis line is regularly rotated through the department to ensure a higher quality of work-life balance.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in human services field. (Required)
- Licensure or plans to become licensed as LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, or certified in any category offered by IAODAPCA (CADC preferred) within two years of employment start date. (Required)
- Ability to read, write, and speak in Spanish and English. (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance. (Required)
- Cultural competency with both clients and peers including but not limited to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Flexibility and willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours if needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with capacity to handle sensitive and confidential situations with care.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with youth and adults in areas of family conflict, substance abuse, and other behavioral health issues with a range of low to high-risk symptoms. (Preferred)
- Degree specialization in social work or counseling with clinical training in individual, family, and group modalities focusing on family systems and adolescent development. (Preferred)
