The Driver Associates are responsible for following established procedures while carrying out various functions in a manner that reflects the company’s commitment to exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering slab material to customers in a timely and safe manner.
- Daily Pre/Post trip of your truck. This is done thru our ELD System.
- Notifying the Safety Director and your manager if there is anything that needs to be repaired on your truck immediately as well as routine maintenance appointments.
- Daily Fuel Reports to be submitted everyday whether you drove that day or not.
- Attaching all fuel receipts/ expenses to your Daily Fuel Report.
- Collecting money/checks during deliveries and turning them into management daily.
- Collecting all signatures needed during your deliveries and submitting all paperwork to management daily.
- Timely communication with manager for any and all customer and company related inquiries.
- Turn in any receipts that you have for the truck.
- Maintain a clean and proper functioning truck.
Additional Responsibilities when not driving:
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.
- Following all OSHA and company safety policies and requirements.
- Loading and unloading trucks that arrive or need to be shipped out.
- Measuring slabs accurately and photographing material upon receiving transfers.
- Following proper procedures regarding incoming and outgoing paperwork.
- Aid with all delivery/ transfer paperwork.
- Assisting walk-in customers with their slab selections.
- Provide support for the front office as needed.
- Answer phones in absence of front desk representative.
- Provide any needed support for inside/ outside sales team.
- Other miscellaneous duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 25 years of age.
- Must have a minimum of 1 - 2 years of driving experience.
- Must have current class B CDL endorsement.
- Must possess a current DOT Medical Card.
- Must be able to pass a DOT Pre-Employment drug screening.
- Must be able to drive a 10-speed manual transmission.
- Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
- Able to lift 25 pounds; up to 45 pounds on an unassisted basis.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced distribution center environment, and work extended hours as needed.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Overhead Crane experience preferred.
Hours of Operation:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30am to 5pm
- Wednesday night until 7pm (on rotation)
- Saturday: 9am to 3pm (at least once a month)
- Late Wednesday and Saturdays are based on the division schedule.
