Position Summary:
- A Senior Immigration Paralegal plays a critical role in providing comprehensive legal support and assistance to immigration attorneys and clients navigating the complexities of immigration law. With a strong understanding of immigration procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements, the Senior Immigration Paralegal oversees case management, coordinates client communications, and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. A Sr. Immigration Paralegal supports attorneys and clients in all legal responsibilities including but not limited to communication with clients, gathering documentation, conducting research, and organizing documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of immigration matters, including family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, non-immigrant visas, asylum applications, deportation defense, and other immigration-related matters. Coordinate case intake, assessment, and processing in collaboration with attorneys.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on immigration laws, regulations, policies, and precedents to support case strategy development, document preparation, and client representation. Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and procedures. Also conducting initial research and providing information to attorneys.
- Prepare, review, and assemble a wide range of immigration-related documents, petitions, applications, and forms for submission to government agencies such as United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Department of State (DOS), Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), and DHS (Department of Homeland Security). Handle all petitions and e-filings. Also organize all legal documents in a confidential way.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on case status, gathering information/documents, and addressing inquiries related to immigration processes, requirements, and timelines. Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure clarity and transparency throughout the immigration process.
- Assess clients' immigration eligibility, objectives, and potential legal options. Collaborate with attorneys to develop customized case strategies, identify potential challenges, and provide recommendations for achieving clients' immigration goals.
- Interface with government agencies, immigration courts, and consular offices on behalf of clients. Prepare and submit correspondence, inquiries, and responses to requests for evidence (RFEs) or notices from immigration authorities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documentation, and databases in compliance with firm policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements. Ensure adherence to filing deadlines, procedural requirements, and immigration regulations.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to junior paralegals or support staff on immigration procedures, document preparation, case management best practices, and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of immigration filings, documents, and client communications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards and firm protocols.
- Stay abreast of developments in immigration law, policies, and procedures through ongoing education, training seminars, conferences, and professional networking opportunities. Pursue professional certifications or credentials in immigration law or paralegal studies as appropriate.
Education & Experience:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in business administration/criminal justice or equivalent experience.
- Required: Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Programs.
- Required: Bilingual – Read, write, communicate (English/Spanish).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
