A growing family is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nanny/Household Manager to assist the Principals (stay at home Mother/work from home Father) with the daily care of their household (6,000 sq ft) and shared-care childcare needs.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, nurturing, discreet, non-judgmental, highly organized, and proactive, who can seamlessly manage childcare and household responsibilities as needed. This individual must be comfortable with taking the initiative and anticipating and adapting to the changing needs of the family. The ideal candidate will also have an interest in or familiarity with holistic childrearing approaches.
This full-time, salaried position covers a wide range of responsibilities that might vary on a day-to-day basis and requires a loyal, nurturing and dependable person. A successful candidate possesses excellent people and communication skills, is able to handle confidential information with discretion and protect the privacy of the family.
Responsibilities:
Help prepare home for new baby’s arrival.
- Assist in providing attentive and loving care for newborn (due in August), including feeding, bathing, dressing, and playing as needed.
- Assist in planning and engage child in age-appropriate activities, both educational and recreational.
- Always ensure children’s safety and well-being.
- Help oversee the daily operations of the household (approx. 6,000 sq ft home) to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient home environment.
- Help manage vendors, including cleaners, gardeners, and other contractors.
- Assist with grocery shopping, meal planning, meal preparation, and kitchen tidying for the family.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying up, and organizing as needed.
- Run errands and manage household supplies and inventory as needed.
- Manage household organization/projects/files.
- Help manage minor home maintenance and repairs or coordinate with service providers.
- Occasional pet care as needed.
- Occasional travel with family.
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling travel arrangements when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining medical information and make appointments upon request.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or a willingness to be trained
- Culinary skills for simple meal preparation preferred.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to accommodate the family’s schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or travel.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A nurturing and patient demeanor with a genuine love for children.
