Experience & Qualifications:
- Years of Experience: 3-5 years or more of hands-on experience in geotechnical drilling.
- CDL Preferred: CDL preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- OSHA Safety: Completion of OSHA Safety Certification Course.
- Superintendent experience with ability to oversee many different aspects of project at jobsite.
Key Responsibilities & Core Competencies:
- Hollow Stem Auger Experience: Demonstrate proficiency in using hollow stem augers to gather accurate subsurface data using Standard Penetration Test and undisturbed Shelby Tube samples.
- Rock Coring: Execute wireline and conventional rock coring activities with 3-5 years of proven experience.
- Casing and Mud Rotary Experience: Proficient in casing advancement and mud rotary drilling in heaving sands, gravel deposits, and artesian conditions. Hands on experience mixing and maintaining drilling fluids to retain borehole integrity.
- Installation Experience: Install piezometer and inclinometer casing, knowledge of cement and bentonite grout mixtures.
- Equipment Experience: Operate geotechnical rigs, remote control and cab operated track mounted rigs, truck mounted rigs. Dozer, and excavator experience a plus.
- Team Player: Essential team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Effective Communicator: Ability to keep accurate drill logs, equipment logs, and other methods to convey project data, drilling, and maintenance information to engineering and management teams.
Work Schedule & Travel:
- Rotation: 5-10’s; enjoy weekends at home.
- Geographical Coverage: Travel required throughout Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Alabama, West Virginia, and Virginia and the Eastern Seaboard.
- Working environments: Our drilling market consists of rail, bridge, and highway construction. Investigation of dams, cut and fill analysis and other earthmoving projects. Communication tower construction and other commercial development. Marine access and navigable waterway projects requiring land borings and barge borings.
- Per Diem: Lodging and meals provided during travel.

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
