Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated EMT-Basic / Administrative Assistant to join our team. As an EMT-Basic / Administrative Assistant in a dual split role (Monday, Wednesdays, and Friday 's) you will play a crucial role in providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need on the ambulance, and on (Tuesday's and Thursday's) you will be supporting the administration team with administrative roles and responsibilities. Bilingual in Spanish is a MUST.

EMT-B:
- Respond to calls for emergency and non-emergency transports.
- Assess a patient's condition and determine a course of treatment per local protocol.
- Provide first-aid treatment and/or advanced-level life support to patients.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients, give orders, and relay information to others.
- Transport patients safely in an ambulance.
- Transfer patients to the hospital or other healthcare facilities.
- Report their observations and treatment to physicians, or other healthcare facility staff.
- Document medical care given to patients in a prompt and effective manner.
- Inventory, replace, and clean supplies and equipment after use.
- Maintain and clean crew quarters, ambulance and station locations daily.
Administration Assistant:
- Assures proper utilization of vehicular resources to assure prompt completion of requests for services.
- Inspects communication equipment for operational requirements, repairs equipment within scope of abilities, reports needed maintenance and/or deficiencies to relief and supervisor.
- Receives and enters call/patient information into computerized dispatch system.
- Provides dispatch accountability for all services (Ambulance, Wheelchair Van & Support Vehicle) during assigned shift, auditing daily CAD log to reflect ePRC to assure completion of data.
- Maintains proficiency in Communications computer software required for daily operations.
- Consults with leadership in referencing necessary pre-transport screening patient information, Medicare and Medicaid Laws/Guidelines updates, and other contractual obligations for services.
- Provides proper utilization of radio and telephone equipment being courteous, proper modulation, prompt paging of staff, routing telephone calls to proper locations, or takes an accurate written message.
- Capable of establishing priorities according to relative importance and deadlines; set goals; and manages time efficiently.
Skills:
- Proficient in triage procedures
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess and treat patients effectively
- Experience in critical care transport is a plus
- Familiarity with working in hospital or urgent care settings
- Ability to assess and manage various medical emergencies
