Sidewalks and Urban Trails Division (SUTD) is responsible for planning, building, and maintaining the City’s 3,500+ mile sidewalk and urban trail network. SUTD has been at the forefront of innovative pedestrian infrastructure solutions, including field engineered, unit cost project delivery, development of a comprehensive sidewalk condition assessment program, and the implementation of shared street and vegetation maintenance programs.
This position will also complete interdepartmental project coordination to implement City of Austin Complete Streets initiatives, plan review, development and Standards review liaison, site review of sidewalk projects, report creation and distribution, use of GIS to create, analyze, and report data, project management assistance, and sidewalk project utility coordination.
The Project Coordinator is a critical member of a cross-functional team that will coordinate development and implementation of transformational improvements to Austin’s pedestrian networks. Austin voters have recently approved over $500 million in funding for sidewalk, bikeway, urban trail, safe route to school, and pedestrian safety improvements. This position will use the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan and Sidewalk/ADA Transition Plan to coordinate the implementation of public Right-of-Way projects.
