Job Summary:
The Quality Engineering Technician (QET) position is responsible for troubleshooting product and process deficiencies on the manufacturing floor, ensure overall product quality and drive process improvements. The Quality Engineering Technician will help develop inspection plans, methods/processes, sampling techniques required to assure the quality of products at incoming, in process and finished goods. This role will also part take in receiving inspection, in process and final inspection of finished goods. The Quality Engineering Technician will function as a technical intermediary between the manufacturing floor, inspection function, engineering function, and suppliers. The QET may update engineering prints; update the PDM system as needed; participate in the ECO process; conduct internal, external audits and supplier audits. The QET will assist with establishing inspection requirements for new parts and processes, conduct product inspection, and qualify prospective parts and processes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct receiving, in process and finished good inspections. Ability to interpret blueprints and operate inspection equipment and tools.
- Responsible for conducting FAIs.
- Contributes to team by participating in new product development processes and support all sustaining products.
- Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals and drawings, challenge Engineering and Project Teams on design, and assist manufacturing teams with design modification where necessary to improve operating efficiencies with safety, and quality as a priority.
- Has developed a technical working expertise of products and provides technical assistance to Manufacturing team to troubleshoot product and process deficiencies.
- Work closely with all stakeholders to determine what processes and parts need inspection and at what levels or intervals those inspections should be performed. Develop the inspection plans and metrics for completing the inspection of those processes and parts.
- Where appropriate, use metrics, data tracking and reporting of quality performance to drive improvements with manufacturing, suppliers, and other internal processes.
- Function as the technical liaison between SCRAM and key suppliers.
- Must be competent and able to work with purchasing, manufacturing, and engineering to maintain PDM and PLM.
- Demonstrated experience, aptitude, and education to work as a technical intermediary between the manufacturing personnel, suppliers, inspectors, and engineers to answer questions, resolve or mediate issues and help improve the overall cost of quality for all products.
- Manage monthly field returned data and provide trending analysis for reporting for product quality.
- Conduct manufacturing floor efficiencies and improve through various quality tools.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects - system integration, quality circle, etc.
- Support internal and external audit to ensure compliance as needed.
- Create and update manufacturing and quality procedures as needed.

Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
