What We Are Seeking
Looking for a full-time, skilled and experienced RPG Programmer with expertise in iSeries (Power System) development and administration. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing RPG/RPT applications on the iSeries platform, as well as configuring and administering the iSeries environment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This is a hybrid position working remotely, as well as reporting to our Egg Harbor Township, NJ office.
Job Responsibilities

RPG/RPT Development: Design, code, test, and debug RPG/RPT applications according to business requirements and specifications.

DDS Configuration: Develop and maintain DDS files and displays to support RPG applications and database operations.

CLP Scripting: Write and maintain CLP (Control Language) scripts to automate routine tasks and system operations on the iSeries platform.

iSeries Configuration: Configure and administer the iSeries environment, including system settings, user profiles, security policies, and resource allocation.

Journaling: Implement and manage journaling for data integrity and disaster recovery purposes, ensuring the reliability and consistency of critical data.

iSeries Access Configuration: Configure and maintain iSeries Access for Windows clients, including ODBC connections, data transfer settings, and client/server configurations.

Performance Optimization: Identify and implement performance optimization strategies to enhance the efficiency and scalability of RPG applications and iSeries systems.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks in RPG applications, DDS files, CLP scripts, and iSeries environments.

Documentation: Document system configurations, procedures, and best practices for reference and training purposes.

Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, administrators, and business stakeholders, to define requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions effectively.
Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in RPG/RPT programming on the iSeries (Power System) platform, with a strong understanding of DDS, CLP, and other relevant technologies. 5 yr min.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in RPG IV, RPG Free Format, DDS specifications, CLP scripting, and other iSeries development tools and languages.

iSeries Administration: Hands-on experience in configuring and administering iSeries systems, including system settings, user profiles, security policies, and resource management.

Journaling: Working knowledge of journaling concepts and implementation on the iSeries platform for data replication and recovery.

iSeries Access: Familiarity with configuring and managing iSeries Access for Windows clients, including ODBC connections, data transfer settings, and client/server configurations.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in RPG applications and iSeries environments.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.

Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and tools, and adapt to evolving business requirements and technical challenges.

Certifications: Relevant certifications in RPG programming, iSeries administration, or related areas would be a plus.
