DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage JOB TITLE: Host/Hostess
REPORTS TO: Director and Assistant Manager of F&B

BASIC FUNCTION: As an integral part of the team, the Host/Hostess must be highly motivated, and customer-focused in providing excellent service to our members and guest. They will also provide support in the dining room by preparing the restaurant for service and always maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room. This individual will need to be quick on his/her feet and possess an engaging personality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet members and guests as they arrive or move about in the restaurant area.
- Learn restaurant seating layout, how tables are divided into server areas to seat guests.
- Maintain knowledge of table numbers and monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables.
- Knowledge of restaurant hours, room capacity, and dress code of the restaurant.
- Estimating wait times for members and guests and ensuring that members' needs are met while they are waiting.
- Assist in answering the phone and making reservations.
- Taking food orders via phone.
- Take cocktail orders and assist with food service if needed.
- Buss and clean tables.
- Learn the mobile ordering system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Polish glass and flatware.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- No experience necessary. Willing to train the right person.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to details
- Able to prioritize and multi-task.
- Must be outgoing and energetic.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, smell, and hear. The employee is required to reach with arms and hands, climb and balance; regularly lift, push, and tables and chairs (with assistance if necessary). Must be able to lift and carry loaded large trays. The employee must meet vision requirements of close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
- This job requires regular and predictable attendance.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to temperature changes indoors and out and working in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned environments as well as in direct sunlight.
- May also be exposed to cleaning chemicals i.e., bleach, degreaser, or dish detergent.
- EDUCATIONAL and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required.
