Job Description
Perform the duties required to check parts, assemblies, gages and machines to specifications; troubleshoot problems and communicate findings to management; provide technical support for engineering, shop, purchasing and process control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
1. Review and compare process parts to prints using varied gages and machines.
2. Retrieve lists of gages coming due for calibration from the database and sort by department information; distribute the list to the appropriate parties.
3. Update calibration dates and codes in database for gage that has gone through the calibration process.
4. Maintain Gage Calibration Board that identifies the color associated with the year in which the gage/tool is due for calibration and designate the week in the year it is due.
5. Review set-up practices and inform shop of out-of-tolerance conditions.
6. Assist shop with inspection methods and print interpretation.
7. Prepare written updates for programs and enter commands.
8. Record actual values of new/revised parts for engineering.
9. Review purchased parts/components against prints/purchase requirements.
10. Label and reject defective purchased parts.
11. Retrieve prints, routings, bill of materials and, where used, purchase and stock information.
12. Prepare written updates for Q.C.I.’s for machines and gages.
13. Compare machine output gages to Q.C.I. standards.
14. Complete stock audits.
15. Create IHTR’s, receive rejects and communicate.
16. Evaluate items returned on PAR and maintain the PAR database.
