Young's Environmental is seeking highly-motivated CDL A Drivers + Operators WITH tanker + hazmat endorsements to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan!
This position would include the safe operation of semis and lowboys, vacuum tanker trucks, jumbo bulk haulers, roll-off trucks, hydro-excavation units, and other waste-hauling vehicles on various environmental and energy-related projects. Daily jobs could include standby services for pipelines, daily waste runs, on-site vac truck services, line jetting and cleaning, bulk waste transportation, or emergency response projects.

Here's an idea of what you can expect to do -
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, procedures, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Driving and operating various waste transportation and vacuum tanker units/trailers.
- Check all waste-related paperwork prior to transport to ensure completeness and accuracy of the manifests, bill of lading, land disposal restriction forms, proper placarding, etc.
- Work in potentially elevated noise levels where you must be able to hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
- Be able to safely complete tasks associated with a labor-intensive position including working outside in all types of weather conditions and standing, kneeling or bending for long periods of time
- Lifting, carrying, and pulling of hoses of up to 100 pounds, climbing on the unit, and minor maintenance
- Performing pre- and post-trip inspections
- Follow directions given both orally and in writing
- Providing safe, effective, and professional service to our clients
- Assist in various Emergency Response projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work site throughout the duration of project(s)
- Completing all required paperwork on a daily basis, including daily reports, timesheets, and other administrative forms
Here is what we need from you -
- Negative drug and alcohol test INCLUDING marijuana (pre-employment, random, etc.) per federal regulations
- Valid Commercial Drivers License A or B with tanker endorsement and satisfactory results of a Motor Vehicle Report
- Satisfactory results of a background check (and your authorization to conduct a routine background check) - offenses will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Ability to drive a 18-speed manual transmission
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid medical card
- Ability to understand basic operating instructions, safe work practices, and scopes of work
- Ability to handle a physical workload
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn!
