Como Park Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician for a Full-Time primary care position.
We are part of a privately-owned 24-hour AAHA-accredited animal hospital, which provides primary care during the days and urgent/emergency care 24/7.
Patients are dogs, cats, birds, pocket pets and some exotics. Every day is different!
Level: Experienced / Certified
DUTIES
Our Technicians Perform
- inpatient and outpatient care
- medical histories and record keeping
- diagnostics (extensive in house lab suite, digital radiology, ultrasound)
- surgical assisting and anesthesia
- triage (on the phone and in person)
- client communication and education and more - You will use your skills!!
REQUIREMENTS
You must:
- Have at least 1 year of veterinary work experience
- Be able to work independently and in a team- Be able and willing to work some evening and weekend shifts
- Be able to lift 35 lbs., to be on your feet for hours at a time, and spend a good amount of time in front of a computer screen
- Have good lab / diagnostic skills
- Have good communication skills and be able to think on your feet in unusual situations
As a plus, it would be great if you:
- Have Cornerstone experience, or other EMR
- Have exotics care / handling experience
Credentialed technicians preferred
WORK DETAILS
Hours will consist of some weekday shifts (starting at 7 or 8am), evenings (until 8pm) and some weekend shifts (until 2pm). Some holidays will be required (most hours qualify for holiday pay).
