JOB SUMMARY:
The Head Start Fiscal Support Clerk is responsible for supporting the Head Start/Child Development Department in the execution and timely delivery of information, payment processing, data collection, data entry and reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare check requests and purchase orders to ensure prompt payment of financial obligations.

Reconcile invoices to statements and purchase orders, checking for accuracy and completeness.

Acquire supplies, materials, and equipment from vendors for Head Start/Child Development centers.

Calculate in-kind for data entry into Child Plus database and provide reports to supervisor.

Ensure all documents are properly signed and distributed.

Assume responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.

Communicate with vendors, child care providers, and customers.

Arrange travel for all Head Start/Child Development staff, and process all corresponding travel requisitions and documents.

Allocate bill payment per established policies and procedures.

File bills, vouchers, documents and other material.

Distribute Head Start/Child Development petty cash and reconciles monthly.

Support the Head Start and Child Development programs as needed to maintain compliance with programmatic, local, state, federal and other applicable regulations and requirements.

Review and submit Provider Check Requests.

Reconcile and submit credit information.

Attend and participate in staff meetings; take minutes of meetings and seminars as directed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Associates degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or related field; AND
-
One year of general office experience.
OR
-
High school diploma (or equivalent) with bookkeeping certificate or college coursework consisting of a combination of at least two classes of basic accounting or mathematics with a passing grade; AND
- Two years of general office experience
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Attend local and out of area meetings and conferences as required per the funding source(s) or as directed.

Meet and maintain KCAO hiring requirements which include:
-
Criminal Record Clearance including California DOJ, FBI and Child Abuse Centralized Index (CACI).

Reliable, insured transportation and valid California Driver License.
-
Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) acceptable to KCAO's vehicle insurer.
-
Health examination with tuberculin clearance.
-
AND contingent on employment candidate will be required to provide documentation of your Measles, and Pertussis immunizations.

Influenza immunization highly preferred.
-
Ability to be contacted outside of regularly scheduled work hours in case of emergency.
