As the largest lobster processing facility in the State, we have quickly become a leading seafood exporter, shipping millions of pounds of live lobster, fresh HPP, cooked and whole frozen lobster meat to nearly every corner of the world. We are currently seeking a Production Manager Trainee to join our growing team on both our live and processed lobster.

Reports to: Plant Manager
Position Summary
The Production Manager Trainee will have the ability to learn our business from when the lobster is caught to when it’s shipped out the door. The position allows you to gain work experience in multiple departments of our production plant and business. The program will equip you with the necessary skills to read complex situations production managers deal with every day, develop the best solutions to tackle those scenarios, and put those solutions to use.
The Production Manager Trainee will participate in projects under the supervision of a designated mentor to develop people for supervisory/managerial positions within the company. Participant will be involved in cross-training activities to develop their vision and understanding of our business to include: Processing procedures, Quality, Maintenance, and Accounting. This is a hands-on position where you will be actively learning the jobs on site.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you work effectively and cooperatively with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.
- Participates in process improvement and problem solving utilizing continuous improvement.
- Develop supervisory skills through participation in educational opportunities and working with managers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Learn all areas of our business from start to finish.
- Learn production flow and jobs and how they impact our business.
- Develop understanding of financial & cost accounting reports and how areas may impact numbers positively or negatively and provide solutions.
- Develop understanding of production cost and goals.
- Ability to work across the company and build a team relationship within the company.
- Identify and recommend cost controls and other improvements to the production process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Management, Marine Biology, or any related fields

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 50-100 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to cold temperatures and typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
