Senior Accountant
Zhou Agency is an integrated advisory firm providing accounting, real estate and risk management services to our valued clients. We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our collaborative group of professionals to grow the Accounting business. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients. Working closely with managers, you will be responsible for overseeing client engagements, mentor junior staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise in accounting principles and tax regulations will contribute to the firm's success in delivering exceptional client service and achieving strategic objectives.
Functions and Responsibilities
Tax Preparation
· Prepare federal, state and local income tax returns for individuals and small businesses; walk through tax outcomes with clients
· Conduct thorough tax research to interpret and apply complex tax laws, rulings, and regulations to client situations
· Review tax notices and help client with IRS, local department of revenue correspondences
· Assist clients with IRS or state tax auditing
Tax Planning & Tax Consulting
· Review returns and develop tax strategies to help clients achieve their long-term financial goals
· Take ownership of key client accounts and develop a deeper understanding of our clients’ overall investment needs and provide advisory services to address their needs
Client Development
· Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored accounting solutions
· Develop new clients through consultation and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships
Leadership Responsibilities
· Mentor junior staff, providing guidance, training, and support in accounting and tax procedures, professional standards, and client service excellence
· Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning
Qualification
· B.S. in Accounting required and M.S. in Business preferred
· CPA or EA required
· Proven experience 3+ years in a public accounting firm with both individual and business tax experience
· Keen interest in developing leadership skills and have a strong desire to motivate, coach and develop team members
· Experience with client facing role; enjoy building relationships with clients
· Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
· Excellent tax research and communication skills (written and verbal)
· Strong technical proficiency in accounting software and MS Office
· Professional demeanor with high level of integrity
