Join an energetic, patient-focused team! Heartland Imaging is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a PRN position at our outpatient imaging center in Elizabethtown and Louisville, KY.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor, Clinical Manager, or Clinical Director, the Registered Nurse:

Is a highly skilled clinician utilizing an interdisciplinary approach to patient care service delivery?
-
Manages care at a highly-developed skill level in collaboration with patients, their families, physicians, & other members of the health care team.

Ensures services are performed in a safe environment by established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
-
Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks and provides feedback for improved clinical practice.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Mentors staff and orients new employees.

Supervision and scheduling of nursing staff.
-
Assumes leadership role in the absence of supervisor or manager as assigned and assists supervisor or manager with administrative or project duties as assigned.

May serve as a competent monitor during procedures requiring conscious sedation.
-
I want to collaborate with Imaging Center staff to facilitate timely patient care.
-
Exercises sound judgment and recognize the points/need to escalate issues or concerns.
-
As required, I'd like to instruct students and residents and perform preceptor duties as needed.

Competently assists with assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing care.
-
Identifies patients and assists technologists with patient preparation and positioning.
-
Prepares patient for the procedure by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary.

Provides optimal patient care by explaining procedures to patients and answering questions.
-
Performs venipuncture and maintains intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
-
Identifies, prepares, and administers medications as prescribed by and under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner by state and federal regulations.

Competently prepares, measures, and delivers oral contrast to patients under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner.

Accesses power ports per procedure.
-
Monitors and records the physiological condition of patients.

Functions as liaison with primary care departments.

Assists in maintaining supply inventory.
-
Establishes ownership of clinical area by taking pride in the appearance and readiness of exam rooms, treatment area, equipment, and supplies.

Serves, manages, and supports internal and external customers.
-
Follows established Safety Standards to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Performs quality assurance checks on equipment.
-
Takes the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the Imaging Center as assigned or when own workload/area allows.

Participates in performance improvement activities.
-
Participates as a team member and is accountable for their work responsibilities.
-
Demonstrates consistent use of AIDET (Acknowledge patient, Introduce yourself, provide Duration/timeline for the test, Explain the test, & Thank them for choosing our center) and HEAL ( Hear them out, Empathize, Apologize, & Leap into action to solve) when interacting with patients/customers.

Attends/participates/conducts staff meetings, in-services, & center-wide meetings as scheduled.

Performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
-
Minimum 1 year as an RN in a clinical setting
EDUCATION:
-
Must be a graduate of an accredited RN program.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire. ACLS certification may be required.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Ability to work independently and multitask.

Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.

Ability to manage medical emergencies and contrast reactions under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner.

Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
