SHIPPING & RECEIVING ASSOCIATE
Aerospace manufacturing firm is seeking a responsible individual with great worth ethics who can fill the position of Shipping & Receiving Associate.
Duties include but are not limited to:
-Plan, organize staff, supervise, train and control all activities in the Shipping/Receiving area
-Participate in the overall planning and communication with other departments processing of shipments, production needs, purchasing transactions and quality control functions
-Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment
-Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
-Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
-Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes
-Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
-Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
-Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock
-Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins
-Compute amounts, such as space available, and shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list
-Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, explicit guidelines from governmental agencies, packing instructions, pick lists, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide ALL units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent of all units of measure
- Compute and interpret metric system
Aerospace experience preferred but not required.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 65 per week
