Inventory Associate
Inventory Associate will keep track of the goods and supplies in our warehouse and vendor’s production facilities’. Will manage inventory purchase orders to facilitate sales and production. Duties include signing off on received shipments, counting the number of available products, and placing orders for more inventory according to demand. This will include working with our management team, providing reports of up-to-date inventory purchases & resource allocation as well as forecasting future sales. Also includes arranging for inventory pickup and shipment as well as performing extensive research for various inventory-related reports, Associate will monitor inventory levels to achieve balance between sales needs and capacity/capital constraints.
Works closely with Sales Department to ensure in stock status on all time critical sales, upcoming promotions & new customer initial stock orders. Will respond to all internal inventory requests. Will maintain inventory management database and analyze data to determine future needs. Inventory Associate will report to the Operations Manager/warehouse operational hours will be 9-5. Overtime is sometimes available and required.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Accurately complete and audit necessary shipping and receiving documentation, inventory control documentation, receipts transactions, and outbound/usage to maintain accurate inventory records.
Monitor materials to provide accurate recordkeeping and completion of ordered, received, and invoiced quantities.
Perform cycle counts as established by facility management, assist in resolution of discrepancies, and report results in a timely manner for adjustment of inventory records.
Identify, research, report and resolve any issues.
Verify materials to be shipped for accuracy; create shipping memos and bills of ladings for shipments.
Ensure materials are stored in correct locations with proper identification to facilitate appropriate stock rotation and inventory accuracy.
Ensure all storage areas are maintained in a manner to ensure a safe workplace and orderly warehousing.
Communication with third-party vendors and shippers to arrange pickup/delivery availability and scheduling.
General Responsibilities of Inventory Associate
· Obtain estimates, lead times and pricing details from different vendors to compare cost
· Communicate and work with Customer Service to acknowledge inventory availability for customer orders so they are prepared to satisfy customer lead times
· Communicate with vendors and shippers to arrange pickup/delivery availability and scheduling.
· Receive inbound materials and supplies
· Verify materials to be shipped for accuracy; create shipping memos and bills of ladings for shipments
· Manage inventory by maintaining stock and cataloging products; updating inventory counts and maintaining inventory records to share with various departments
· Performing quality checks on stored inventory and discarding inventory that does not meet the company’s standards
· Assist as needed with new products and customers to assure on time and correct product and quantity shipments
· Work with Operations Manager to ensure materials are stored in correct locations with proper identification to facilitate appropriate stock rotation and inventory accuracy
· Assist wherever management deems necessary with day-to-day operations
Inventory Associate skills and qualifications
· Ability to use inventory computer programs to update counts and compile reports
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel
· Proven analytical experience with strong attention to detail.
· Works independently with strong organizational and planning skills.
· Ability to work within fast-paced deadline driven environment. Understanding of the financial impact of inventory inaccuracies.
· Ability to proactively anticipate issues, analyze discrepancies, provide recommendations, and implement resolutions and improvements.

· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of operating a forklift preferred (Training can be provided)
Inventory clerk education
A high school diploma or GED certificate required and a college degree is helpful. Having taken courses that focus on business math skills, business communication skills, accounting and human resources with a supervisory focus are useful for this position. Enhanced inventory knowledge with a certification, such as the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) credential offered by APICS, the Association for Supply Chain Management is helpful.
