Description:
The Cytotechnologist applies and contributes to the St. Peter’s Health Partners mission and values in performing a variety of cytologic testing and related duties following established procedures and protocols.
What You'll Do:
- Develops a complete understanding of the basic operation of all instrumentation/equipment used according to SOP, department policies and procedures.
- Maintains correct patient ID throughout testing, troubleshoots and solves problems in a timely manner, precisely and accurately enters patient/QC results.
- Follows SOP for specimen collection/processing/storage/handling/reference lab testing, maintains acceptable annual CAP proficiency testing results.
- Participates in the laboratory's quality management program, makes suggestions and provides feedback in a timely manner for issues and/or problems.
- Understands lab specific monitors and Q.A. program and participates in the evaluation of specialized reports for QC, QA.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree and certification by a nationally recognized certifying agency, (i.e. ASCP or International Academy of Cytology.
- Current license from New York State Department of Health to practice as Cytotechnologist and successful completion of CMS Proficiency testing requirements.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $31.50 - $43.06
- Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
