Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Receiving Manager to join our team. The Receiving Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the receiving process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a focus on process improvement, and the ability to manage a team effectively.
Duties:
- Oversee the receiving operations, including unloading trucks, inspecting shipments, and verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Implement and maintain efficient processes for receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.
- Ensure accurate inventory control through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize 3PL relationships and streamline logistics operations.
- Utilize forklifts and other equipment to handle incoming shipments safely and efficiently.
- Lead and mentor a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Manage shipping and receiving schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in e-commerce logistics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role with expertise in shipping/receiving operations.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate forklifts safely.
- Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives within a warehouse setting.
- Experience with 3PL partnerships and knowledge of logistics processes.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Knowledge of e-commerce logistics is a plus.
