Job title: Registered Nurse Med/Surg Tele
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg Tele team. As a Registered Nurse in Med/Surg Tele, you will provide care and monitoring for patients with medical or surgical conditions, using telecommunication and digital technology to support patient care. Your role will involve assessing patients, administering medication and treatment, coordinating with healthcare professionals, and educating patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical conditions and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitor vital signs, and provide general bedside care to promote patients' well-being.
- Utilize telecommunication technology to monitor patients remotely, including performing remote patient check-ins, conducting video consultations, and ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and plan patient care, including discussing treatment plans, monitoring patient progress, and identifying any necessary adjustments.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and any necessary lifestyle modifications.
- Document patients' information accurately and maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and legal regulations.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in continuous professional development, staying up-to-date with current medical practices and advancements in telehealth technology.
- Demonstrate empathy, compassion, and respect while providing excellent patient care.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid and current RN license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing. Experience in telemetry or telehealth is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in using telecommunication and digital technology to communicate and monitor patients remotely.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and handle multiple priorities.
