LOCATION: Specific schools and all grade levels across Denver Public Schools
HOURS: Monday-Friday, full and half day assignments may be available
SALARY: $21.50 per hour

About This Job:
Supports teachers in meeting the behavioral, social-emotional, physical and daily living needs of students with severe/profound disabilities primarily in school settings, but also in the community.
All Substitute Special Education Paraprofessionals are requested to work a minimum of five (5) assignments a month.

What You'll Do:
Assists in conducting multi-media activities, general office and clerical tasks, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities, as directed
Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained
May provide medically invasive (e.g., tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning) following universal precautions and as trained and directed
Facilitates and supports accommodations and modifications specified on Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and teacher lesson plans
Monitors and continues classroom activities when the teacher is engaged with other students
Prepares and sets up educational materials
Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and technique, according to District training
Provides feedback to teacher(s)/supervisor(s) on individual students
Monitors student activity in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and other locations as required or requested
May be under direct or indirect supervision of certificated staff while interacting with student(s) on the school campus
Maintains the confidentiality of student information
Completes training programs and attends meetings as required
