What You'll Do as a Lift Truck Maintenance Technician:
Lift Truck Maintenance Technicians diagnose and perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs on a variety of powered industrial equipment, including Publix's lift trucks which are also commonly known as forklifts. They use hand tools as well as computerized testing equipment in order to locate and repair problems. The Technicians read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. To perform preventive maintenance, they routinely check items such as hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressure, the condition of the forks, drive control, steering and the brakes. Furthermore, they use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process the maintenance repairs performed.
One of the following positions is available: Lift Truck Technician Class A, B, or C.
The position offered is contingent upon the qualifications and work experience of the candidate.
Qualifications:
- be at least 18 years old (or at least 19 years old for positions in Alabama
- ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
- ability to lift a minimum of 65 pounds
- ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, reach, push, and pull
- ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment
- ability to read, write, and solve math problems
- successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position): Computation, Following Written Directions, Space Visualization and Mechanical Aptitude
- ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions
- ability to generate and process work on a computerized maintenance-management system
- ability to supply and maintain hand tools to accomplish daily duties
- ability to work with little or no supervision
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- strong problem-solving skills
- willingness and ability to advance
- safe work habits
- self-motivated individual
Preferred Qualifications:
- current Industrial Maintenance associate
- have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of powered industrial equipment, as well as, knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components
- ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and technical manuals
- experience maintaining powered industrial trucks (electric powered forklifts)
- working knowledge of hydraulic systems
- working knowledge of D.C. voltage circuits and operational sequence of components
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.35 - $38.20 per hour
