Job Title: Residential Supervisor
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Supervisor to join our team and oversee the daily operations of our residential facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of residents while maintaining a supportive and enriching environment.
Responsibilities:
- Uphold resident rights and promote a respectful and dignified living environment
- Manage Direct Support Professionals (DSP)
- Provide ongoing training of current and new DSPs to ensure appropriate care and treatment of individuals served
- Provide assistance with lifting and transferring residents when needed
- Implement behavior management techniques to ensure a peaceful living atmosphere
- Deliver compassionate care to individuals served
- Administer medications following proper protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines
- Be prepared to provide first aid in case of emergencies
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a residential care setting
- Proficiency in resident care practices and procedures
- Strong understanding of medication administration protocols
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with individuals served, families, and staff
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred
- Other related duties as assigned by supervisor, Residential Director or Executive Director
WORKING CONDITION: The Residential Supervisor position is on call status should an emergency arise. Additionally, the Residential Supervisor is expected to work a minimum of forty (37.50 - 40) hours per week. The Residential Supervisor must be flexible with working hours in order to meet the needs of the program (i.e., necessary medical appointments, emergencies and absence of other Direct Support Professionals). Attendance of scheduled DSP meetings and in-service training is also required.
