Buddy V's is looking for an experienced Event Managerto organize excellent events. You will be responsible for every aspect of an event.
The Event Manager must be well-organized and competent in vendor management. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates.
The goal is to organize unforgettable events that will ensure the entertainment of participants and facilitate the completion of business objectives.
You will work directly with the General Manager to organize and coordinate all facets of group sales, generating and cultivating sales leads, building customer/client relationships and conducting site visits.
The Event Manager will be responsible for maintaining client files and invoice management. Lastly, they will provide prospective client, booking leads and sell client information directly to the General Manager for purposes of revenue control and the management of group sales operations.
Responsibilities
- Understand requirements for each event
- Plan event with attention to financial and time constraints
- Research vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
- Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations etc.)
- Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards
- Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
- Evaluate event’s success and submit reports
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as event coordinator
- A proven track record of organizing successful events
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent vendor management skills
- Knowledge of basic recruitment practices
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
- Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
- Able to handle stress and remain calm
- Problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of Micros, Seven Rooms, Triple Seat & Opentable.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and venues
- Planning event details and aspects, including seating, dining and guests
- Creating reliable financial reports and collecting payments on time
- Remaining under budget with all costs
- Managing events and addressing potential problems that may arise
- Planning for potential scenarios that could impact the integrity of the event
- Maintaining a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
